Hwy 12 Construction To Begin

Work to rebuild about nine miles of Highway 12 between Highway 67 in Elkhorn and Highway 50 in Lake Geneva is set to begin this month, according to the Walworth County Public Works Department.

The work will include repaving the road surface, structure rehabilitation on several bridges and culverts, new guardrails and signing and pavement marking upgrades.

Project Overview

Beginning March 2022, US Highway 12 is scheduled for construction for WIS 50 to WIS 67, with a scheduled completion of Fall 2023.  Work will be done under single lane closures as well as bi-directional traffic utilizing a crossover.  The project will include:

  • Mill and Asphalt Overlay of existing pavement surface within the project limits
  • Structure rehabilitation at several bridges and culverts
  • New Guardail within the corridor
  • Signing and pavement marking upgrades within project limits
