Town of Delavan Ordinance No. 9.11 – Burning

As our community continues recovering from recent storms, many residents are working to clean up fallen trees, branches, and other debris. The Town of Delavan Police Department would like to take this opportunity to share information about Town of Delavan Ordinance No. 9.11 – Burning Regulated.

The purpose of this ordinance is to reduce fire hazards, protect property, and promote the health, safety, and welfare of our community. While certain types of outdoor burning are permitted under specific conditions, the ordinance also establishes important restrictions on what may be burned, where burning may occur, and the safety requirements that must be followed.

With the current dry conditions, we encourage all residents to review the ordinance before conducting any outdoor burning and to consider alternative methods of storm debris disposal, such as chipping, mulching, brush collection, or utilizing a licensed tree service when appropriate.
